EKU Men's Basketball Back Home To Host Kennesaw State

RICHMOND, Ky. –

Eastern Kentucky returns to the friendly confines of McBrayer Arena to host Kennesaw State on Thursday.
 
The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. ET and will air live on ESPN+.  The live radio broadcast of the game is available in the Richmond area on WCYO 100.7 FM, and can be heard worldwide on EKUSports.com.
 
Thursday's game is the first of two straight Faculty & Staff Appreciation Games.  All EKU faculty and staff can claim two free tickets for the game against Kennesaw State and Saturday's game against Liberty.  Additional tickets can be purchased for a discounted rate online.  All tickets are digital and can be claimed online.

INSIDE THE SERIES
-  Eastern Kentucky leads the all-time series with Kennesaw State, 3-0.  The most recent meeting came on Nov. 19, 2018 with the Colonels winning 100-81 in the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam.
 
Jomaru Brown came off the bench to score 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the field in that game.
 
-  The two teams played a home-and-home series in 2012 and 2013 with EKU picking up an 85-71 win in Richmond and a 68-60 victory in Kennesaw.
 
THE COLONELS
-  Eastern Kentucky is 10-12 and to 2-6 in the ASUN Conference after falling at Stetson, 113-95, on Saturday.
 
-  Brown and Michael Moreno each scored 21 points.  Brown added six assists and three steals.  Moreno also contributed seven rebounds and three steals.
 
-  The Colonels shot 49 percent from the field, and 43 percent from 3-point range, against Stetson.
 
-  EKU leads the nation in steals (243), is second in steals per game (11.05/game), third in turnover margin (+6.05) and fourth in turnovers forced (18.50).
 
-  The Colonels are 14th in the country in total assists (361) and 23rd in assists per game (16.41/game).
 
-  Brown ranks seventh in EKU history in steals (166) and has climbed to 17th in program history in scoring (1,290).
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Kennesaw State enters Thursday's game 9-12 overall and 4-4 in ASUN play.  The Owls have lost three straight since starting the league schedule with a 4-1 mark.   
 
-  On Monday, KSU fell at home to Liberty, 65-50.  Spencer Rodgers posted a team-best 10 points.  Chris Youngblood had six points and four rebounds.  Kennesaw State was held to 38 percent shooting from the field and 17 percent from 3-point range (4-of-23).  Liberty hit on 53 percent of its shots and went 10-for-21 (48 percent) from deep.
 
-  Youngblood, a 6-foot-4 sophomore guard, leads the team in scoring (13.2 ppg) and rebounding (5.6 rpg) on the season.  Terrell Burdon, a 5-foot-10 junior guard, averages 12.1 points and a team-best 4.4 assists per game.
 
-  As a team, KSU has averaged 74 points and allowd 69 per game.  The Owls have made 46 percent of their shots from the floor and 35 percent from deep.  Kennesaw State has out-rebounded its opponents by 2.2 per game and has committed 2.6 fewer turnovers.
