MADISON (WKOW) - Temps on the rise ahead of a tropical system heading our way.
SET UP
A warm front passed through southern Wisconsin last night causing temps to soar.
Cristobal made landfall on the Louisiana coast last night and is heading our way. This will cause heavy rain and breezy conditions.
This is only the fourth tropical system to ever cross through Wisconsin since records began in 1850.
TODAY
Temps jump to the upper 80s to low 90s this afternoon with lots of sunshine and a bit of a breeze out of the south.
But, most moisture stays confined to Cristobal, so our humidity levels stay rather comfortable.
TUESDAY
It'll stay warm with highs in the mid 80s with increasing clouds. rain chances increase by the early afternoon.
There is a flash flood watch in effect for Adams, Crawford, Grant, Juneau and Richland counties Tuesday afternoon and evening.
We'll pick up 1-3" of rain widespread with hot spots in the watch getting up to 4"!
This could cause low-lying to get standing water. Never drive through or enter flooded areas, as you don't know how deep the water is; so find an alternate route.
WEDNESDAY
On the backside of Cristobal, we'll turn milder in the low to mid 70s with some more, scattered, lighter rain expected.
