A man was fatally shot Sunday in Back of the Yards on the South Side.
The man, thought to be in his 20s, was crossing the street about 8:40 a.m. in the 1200 block of West Garfield Boulevard when two males approached him and fired multiple shots, striking him twice in the chest, Chicago police said.
Responding officers found him lying unresponsive in the street, police said. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed the death but has not released his identity.
The shooting was possibly recorded on a Pace bus dash camera, police said.
Area South detectives are investigating.
