Detroit Red Wings: Tyler Bertuzzi having a nice bounce back year - Detroit Jock City

The Detroit Red Wings are closing out the remainder of their 2021-22 season, and Tyler Bertuzzi has been a bright spot for them. He’s had quite the bounce-back season after the 2020-21 season was not the best for him, after only playing nine games.

Coming into the 2021-22 season, there was some concern about Detroit Red Wings forward Tyler Bertuzzi due to his unvaccinated status. However, he has seemingly cruised through the year without too many issues.

When it comes to his production and ability to get the offense going, the Red Wings have seen Bertuzzi perform as one of the team’s top sources of offense. Even after some trade deadline rumors pointed to Bertuzzi being on his way out, he was kept and will likely stick around for the duration of his contract.

After signing a large extension, it is hard not to think of Bertuzzi as someone who is a top performer time and time again. Though, Bertuzzi can be streaky, which leads to him playing the hot/cold game at times.

Detroit Red Wings forward Tyler Bertuzzi is having a rebound season.

The 2021-22 season has been kind to Bertuzzi’s revenge tour after being injured last season. He has played in 54 games for the Red Wings this season and has certainly been able to get back on track to being the player the Red Wings know and love.

The Red Wings have gotten to see him get back in the scoring column, and it has shown. Bertuzzi has scored 25 goals and added 28 assists for 53 total points in the 2021-22 season for the Red Wings.

Bertuzzi has a career-high in points this season, and there are still games left to be played from the 27-year-old. He will continue to bring an incredible amount of success with this Red Wings team if he keeps performing at this level.

The Red Wings were smart to hang onto Bertuzzi at the deadline. He’s having a record-setting season for himself when it comes to career achievements, and the Red Wings should be happy, knowing that this may continue to get better as the Red Wings get better.

Time will be the determining factor, but being 27 years old and still, on the right side of 30 years old, he’s got plenty of room to keep getting better. Bertuzzi is arguably the team’s second-best forward, and the 2021-22 season has been a complete rebound for him.

The Red Wings should be excited for him to hopefully come back and perform at a high level again in 2022-23.
