GRAND RAPIDS — West Michigan woke up to warm and muggy conditions with partly cloudy skies. We will stay dry for much of our daylight hours before showers and storms are expected to arrive later this evening. Temperatures will work into the lower 90s but once you factor in the humidity it will feel like the middle to upper 90s.
The breezy winds will impact the lake shore on Sunday as everyone has a moderate beach hazard risk. Two to four foot waves build by this afternoon which makes it not a great swimming day. Stay out of the water and off the piers. Be smart and cautious if you head out to the lake shore.
Later this evening we will have an approaching cold front give us some shower and storm chances. Anyone in the Ludington, Muskegon and Big Rapids areas will see these move onshore first as they will then continue off south and east. We will keep these showers and storms around in a scattered fashion throughout the overnight hours and into the day on Monday. When all said and done some locations could pick up about an inch of rainfall.
Once this cold front moves through we will dry out and clear out heading into Monday evening. Behind the cold front lives cooler and drier air as we will see our temperatures drop and humidity levels fall off as well. This week will be comfortable seasonable heat with mainly dry conditions. Enjoy!
