The Verne Drive-In will be one of hundreds of drive-in theaters across the country showing a very unique concert by Garth Brooks later this month.
The concert, set for June 27, is being shown exclusively at drive-in movie theaters — including the Verne Drive-In, which recently reopened after new management put in regulations to address COVID-19.
The drive-in is "working on the details of the show," according to a Facebook message, and more information should be available on Friday.
The concert's website says that tickets will be available on Ticketmaster starting June 19 for $100 per car or truck. The website says a maximum of six people will be allowed per vehicle.
Mitchell's Starlite Drive-In Theatre will not be showing the concert, citing "several problems with the way it is set up" that "make it unfeasible for us to participate in the event."
Garth Brooks sold out nine shows in Sioux Falls in late 2017, a major event that brought thousands of people to Sioux Falls, along with millions of dollars to the local economy.
