A brief reprieve from the heat will continue today in the metro area.
Denver residents should expect highs in the low 70s and storms later in the day, according to the National Weather Service forecast for the city.
Thunderstorms are likely to develop over the mountains midday and move out over the I-25 corridor between 1 and 4 p.m., NWS said in a tweet. The northeast plains should expect storms between 3 and 7 p.m.
On Saturday, Sunday and Monday sunny skies will return to Denver, with a expected highs in the mid 80s, the weather service predicts.
