EUGENE, Ore. – To open the highly anticipated 2022 outdoor season in Eugene, the Oregon track and field team hosts the two-day Hayward Premiere beginning Friday. Competition starts at 2:30 p.m. (PT) with the men's hammer and running events begin at 5:45 p.m. following the OTC Community Lap.
 
The start of the Ducks' home schedule also features the return of fans to Hayward Field following last year's limited access. Single-meet and season tickets, along with all-session tickets for the Pac-12 and NCAA Championships, are currently on sale; click HERE or call 800-WEBFOOT (932-3668).
 
The Hayward Premiere is free to all Oregon students by claiming tickets through the GoDucks app.

This is a year that's going to showcase the state of Oregon, the University of Oregon and Hayward Field like no other. Last Time Out
The Ducks combined for 10 wins and nine top-10 program performances at the SDSU Aztec Invitational. Among the highlights in San Diego were a three-day win for Micah Williams, a school record in the 400-meter hurdles (56.28) by freshman Shana Grebo, an NCAA-leading performance over 200 meters (22.80) by Jadyn Mays and a South African U20 record in the discus (54.22m/177-10) by Mine De Klerk, another UO freshman.
 
Friday Night Stroll
After a productive outing for the Ducks' sprints and throws groups in San Diego, the UO distance crews will take center stage Friday evening at the Hayward Premiere. Featured events on day one of the home opener are invitational sections of the 1500 meters, 5,000 meters and 3,000-meter steeplechase. Izzy Thornton-Bott and Mia Moerck, members of the UO women's third-place DMR, are set to run the 1500 meters with Reed Brown and Alessia Zarbo scheduled to take on the men's and women's sections of the 5,000 meters.
 
Now Introducing…
Powered by a pair of top-12 national performances at the SDSU Aztec Invitational, UO freshman Mine De Klerk earned Pac-12 Women's Field Athlete of the Week (March 29). She is the first UO woman to win the league's weekly field athlete honor since Chaquinn Cook in 2018. De Klerk enters the weekend ranked fourth in the NCAA in the shot put (17.04m/55-11) and 12th in the discus (54.22m/177-10).

How We Rank
In the Week 1 release of the USTFCCCA rating index, the Women of Oregon debut in the outdoor poll at No. 7 with the UO men checking in as the No. 25 team in the country. The team combined for 17 top-25 national performances in San Diego including seven top-10 efforts. Sophomore Jadyn Mays enters April leading the NCAA in the 200 meters with her 22.80 showing.
 
The World is Watching
The World Athletics Championships are coming to the United States for the very first time, bringing the world's best to compete at Hayward Field in Eugene. WCH Oregon22 (July 15-24) will cap an incredible season of track and field in Eugene, a slate that also features the Pac-12 Championships (May 13-15), Nike Prefontaine Classic (May 27-28), NCAA Championships (June 8-11) and the USATF Championships (June 23-26).
