Mother Nature is making her presence felt on Major League Baseball's Opening Day. The weather has forced two postponements on Thursday and another game was moved back as teams begin their 2022 seasons. The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox were set to play the first game of the 2022 MLB season on Thursday afternoon, but the Yankees announced Wednesday that they'd be postponing that game to Friday (also at 1:05) due to rain in the forecast.

The Seattle Mariners and Minnesota Twins have pushed back their first contest from Thursday to Friday as well. And the Washington Nationals and New York Mets will open at 7:05 p.m. ET on Thursday instead of 4:05 in an effort to dodge inclement weather in D.C.

There were originally supposed to be nine games on Thursday's schedule. There are now seven games Thursday (including one that was pushed back), and the remaining eight openers will be played Friday. Here's what the updated Opening Day schedule looks like.

On Friday at Yankee Stadium, Gerrit Cole for the Yankees is set to face Red Sox righty Nathan Eovaldi in a pitching rematch of the 2021 AL Wild Card Game, which Boston won 6-2.
