THE DUCKS vs. THE CARDINAL
Oregon is looking for its first win over Stanford since April 29, 2012 and their first ever win over a ranked Cardinal team. The Ducks have been battling the Cardinal since 2005 and are 3-18 all-time. The two schools initially competed in the MPSF before both moved over to the Pac-12 when it began sponsoring women's lacrosse in 2018. Stanford won the first matchup between the two teams 20-10.
BALANCED ATTACK
Oregon has been able to rely on several players for offensive production this season. Through eight games, seven Ducks (Katie Collins, Alyssa Wright, Bailey Smith, Morgan McCarthy, Shonly Wallace, Hanna Hilcoff and Lillian Stump) have recorded a hat trick. Both McCarthy (Mercer) and Stump (George Mason, San Diego State) have recorded three goals and three assists in a game.
OH CANADA
Oregon boasts three players with Canadian National Team experience in 2022: Cassidy Eckert, Shonly Wallace and Alex Matsuoka. Eckert was recently selected for Canada's 2022 Women's World Cup team. She and Wallace represented the Great White North at the Super Sixes event in October and also teamed up to lead the U-19 team to a silver medal at the 2019 U-19 World Championships. Matsuoka joined Eckert and Wallace at Team Canada's Senior Women's Top 40 Training Camp in 2021.
» Wallace reached 20 goals against Cal, which ranks third on the team, she also is tied for the team lead with eight assists
» Eckert has been Oregon's starting goalie all season, posting a career-high 14 saves against both Cal and Arizona State
» Matsuoka has appeared in three games a freshman after battling injuries for most of the fall and winter
