Monday is going to shape up to be pretty decent weather wise. We'll start off with temperatures in the 60s to near 70 under partly cloudy skies. We'll enjoy some nice sunshine. Later this afternoon though, some cloud cover will be build into the area. Winds will be out the southwest until late morning/early afternoon. A cold front will remain north of the area this morning, but will move through later in the afternoon. Before the front arrives, it will be a typical August day, with highs in the mid 80s and a little humid. This front is expected to spark off some isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms. Models continue to show measurable rain lower than what the previous models showed. The best potential for rain looks largely along and east of the Mississippi River and mainly after about 3pm. Once the front clears the Tri-States, high pressure and northerly wind flow will take over. So Monday night, we'll have mostly clear skies and cooler nighttime lows in the upper 50s.
The high pressure system will continue to influence our weather for Tuesday as well. We'll have abundant sunshine with cooler daytime highs. Right now, it looks like most of us will sit near 80. A few locations may only climb into the upper 70s.
