METAMORA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - A local thrift store in Metamora is turning donations into dollars to give back to non-profits in the community.
Reclaimed Resale is a non-profit thrift store that sells items donated from community members.
The proceeds are used to give back to local charities once a month.
In November, Reclaimed Resale gave $20,000 back to organizations like the Metamora Center and the Metamora Grade School Foundation.
Managers of Reclaimed Resale Kevin and Debbie Rauh said since opening the store in December 2014, they’ve given almost eight hundred thousand dollars back to the community.
“It takes the community, it takes the community to donate quality items that we can sell, it takes the community to come in and purchase the items, and it takes the community to come in and be volunteers,” Kevin said.
People who want to donate items to help out with the cause can drop off your items at the store, located at 407 E. Mount Vernon in Metamora.
Items must be new or gently used, No stains or tears and in good working order.
