Bolts bounce back in a big way vs. Blue Jackets - Official site of the Tampa Bay Lightning

The Lightning delivered the bounce-back performance they needed on Tuesday night against the Blue Jackets in Columbus.

Entering the game riding a three-game losing streak that included a shutout loss on Sunday against the Rangers, the Bolts struck early to build a comfortable lead and rode that down the stretch to a 7-2 victory at Nationwide Arena.

Ondrej Palat and Brayden Point each collected three points in the victory and Andrei Vasilevskiy returned to form with a 20-save effort.

Box ScoreHighlights

Tampa Bay led 3-0 through 20 minutes on two goals from Ondrej Palat and another from Corey Perry. Palat netted both of his goals in the opening 10 minutes of the game, collecting a power play tally at 4:53 and following up five minutes later with a goal off a deflection. Perry made it a three-goal cushion with ninth goal of the season less than three minutes before intermission.

Up big, the Bolts outscored the Blue Jackets 4-2 over the final 40 minutes to cement the victory and snap the losing skid.

The Lightning now return home to open a two-game homestand on Thursday against the Flames.

2nd Period
TBL 3, CBJ 1
0:37 Dean Kukan (1) - Gustav Nyquist, Adam Boqvist

Pat Maroon cashed in on a rebound to move Tampa Bay's power play to three-for-four on the evening. Perry set up down low and tried to jam the puck past Korpisalo from a sharp angle. Korpisalo made the save, but had the rebound deflect to Maroon in the slot, who swept a backhander into the net.

3rd Period
TBL 6, CBJ 2
0:36 Pierre-Edouard Bellemare (4) - Jan Rutta
Jan Rutta forced Columbus into a turnover on their way out of the zone, batting an outlet pass back toward Pierre-Edouard Bellemare. The play created a 3-on-1 for Tampa Bay down low, but Bellemare shot the puck himself and scored from the right circle.

TBL 7, CBJ 2
12:20 Alex Killorn (10) - Anthony Cirelli, Steven Stamkos
Alex Killorn added Tampa Bay's seventh goal of the night at 12:20 of the third period. The puck was worked free to Killorn wide open at the side of the net for an easy goal to round out the scoring.
