Swimming Earns Back-to-Back Wins In 200 Fly Against Campbell And Old Dominion On Saturday - Gardner Webb University Bulldogs

BUIES CREEK, N.C. –  The Gardner-Webb swim team hit the water on Saturday, the men took on Old Dominion University and the women faced Campbell University and Old Dominion.
 
In the women's 400-yard medley relay, the squad of Delaney Willette, Abby Surley, Paris Binard, and Alyssa Church took fifth-place with a time of 4:05.62 at the finish.
 
As for the men's first relay of the day, the squad of Brady Fields, Christian Jann, Cullen Fields, and Logan Cornelison took second in the 400-yard medley with a time of 3:31.79 at the wall.
 
Adrianna Barone placed third in the women's 1,000-yard freestyle, clocking in a time of 11:02.03.
 
In the men's 1,000-yard freestyle, Garret Despres took home second place with a finishing time of 10:05.54.
 
Logan Cornelison took third in the men's 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:45.38, and teammate Theo Drescher followed in fourth with a time of 1:45.59 at the wall.
 
As for the men's 100-yard backstroke, Brady Fields claimed first-place with a time of 51.77 seconds.
 
In the women's 100-yard breaststroke, Gabby Doss placed third with a time of 1:08.20 at the finish.
 
Ryan Taylor took second in the men's 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:01.07, Austin Wheeler finished in third with a time of 1:01.16, and Logan Butner followed in fourth with a time of 1:01.50 at the finish.
 
Clara Schlimper had a big first-place finish for the 'Dogs in the women's 200-yard butterfly, clocking in a time of 2:09.43 at the wall.
 
As for the men's 200-yard butterfly, Cullen Fields beat out the competition by over two seconds to take first in the event with a time of 1:56.81 at the finish.
 
Brady Fields took second in the men's 50-yard freestyle, clocking in a smoking fast time of 21.49, teammate Zuri Ramsey followed in third with a time of 21.93 seconds.
 
In the men's 100-yard freestyle, Long Cornelison placed third with a time of 48.30 at the wall, Zuri Ramsey followed in fourth with a time of 48.52.
 
Mariana Valles placed sixth in the women's 200-yard backstroke, as she hit the touchpad with a time of 2:13.78 on the clock.
As for the men's 200-yard backstroke, Landon Clark took second with a time of 1:57.03 and teammate Bryan Dunne following in third with a time of 1:59.75 at the finish.
 
In the women's 200-yard breaststroke, Gabby Doss took third-place with a time of 2:28.05 at the finish.
 
Ryan Taylor claimed first-place for the men in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing with a time of 2:12.07.
 
The women led a one-two-three sweep in the 500-yard freestyle, Emma Maust clocked a time of 5:16.95, Clara Schlimper swam a time of 5:22.03, and Ellie Eckert finished with a time of 5:23.49.
 
Theo Drescher took second overall in the men's 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:52.44 at the wall.
 
As for the men's 100-yard butterfly, Cullen Fields took first-place for the Runnin' Bulldogs with a time of 52.13 seconds at the finish, Seggio Bernardina took third with a time of 53.28 seconds at the wall.
 
In the men's 200-yard individual medley, Christian Jann placed second with a time of 2:00.76 and Ryan Taylor look third with a time of 2:01.29 at the finish.
 
As for the men's 200-yard freestyle relay, the squad of Brady Fields, Seggio Bernardina, Zuri Ramsey, and Logan Cornelison took second-place with a time of 1:25.41 at the wall.
 
The Runnin' Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, November 19th, as they travel to Charlotte to swim in the Fall Frenzy hosted by Queen University.
