Denver’s hot start to the week continues Tuesday. Humidity early in the day will clear until later in the week when the chance for storms pops back up in the afternoon. The National Weather Service in Boulder forecasts there to be no flood threats in burn scar areas, so if you need to traverse the state without delays, Tuesday or Wednesday are your best bet of doing that.

NWS forecasts Tuesday to be hot, peaking at 95 degrees in Denver. The sunny day will become a clear night with a low of 65 degrees. An air quality alert is in effect for Douglas, Jefferson, Denver, western Arapahoe, western Adams, Broomfield, Boulder, Larimer and Weld counties.

Wednesday should be the hottest day of the week, at a blistering 98 degrees under sunny skies. The wind could kick up to nearly 20 mph as a 10% chance of thunderstorms pops up in the afternoon. The low will dip to 68 degrees.

Thursday brings an increase in thunderstorm activity, with slightly cooler temperatures. The high downtown will be 94 degrees with a 20% chance of storms. The evening will dip to 66 degrees.

The weekend should be cooler with more moisture.
