Tuesday, May 25 will mark the one-year anniversary of George Floyd’s tragic murder at the hands of Minneapolis police. His agonizing death, filmed by multiple bystanders for 9 minutes and 29-seconds, stunned, horrified, and outraged the nation and helped to spark a national and global charge for racial justice, and police reform, and reimagining.
Now one year later, the City of Minneapolis is still processing and reeling from Floyd’s death and the civil unrest that occurred in its aftermath. This weekend, events will take place in the Twin Cities (and across the nation) that offer opportunities for healing and reflection—from rallies, marches, and panel discussions to vigils music, and art exhibits.
