If there is any indication that people are dying to get out and have fun right now, it's the records being set by participants in winter events.
Though Back to Hack events last weekend in Hackensack were well liked in the past, many of them had recently seen less turnout. But this year participants and observers came out in record numbers.

The annual fun run Saturday, Jan. 16, which has always drawn a small group of dedicated runners, had a record number this year. The fishing tournament, likewise, had a record number of participants.
While the Penguin Plunge has always drawn a crowd of spectators, it's sometimes only had one or two actual plunge teams. The event saw a resurgence Saturday, Jan. 16, with eight teams each with one to six members all plunging to raise funds for Faith In Action and the Hackensack Fire and Rescue team. The event raised almost $4,000.
The Hackensack Visitor Center Facebook page reported a robust crowd at other weekend events, including the big finale at the fireworks show.
