Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek took this week's top slot by streaming EA's new Apex Legends battle royale game, as numerous influencers trying the new title litter the chart. Every week, The Esports Observer releases a list of the top 10 Twitch channels, ranked by total number of hours watched for the week, from Monday through Sunday, with data compiled using TEO Analytics. Shroud of Success Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek nearly outperformed his entire month of January streams in just one week by playing the EA's new Apex Legends battle royale game. This week's 4.6M hours watched was matched by an average concurrent viewership of 63.03K over the course of 61.2 hours of airtime, 56.4 of which was of the new battle royale game. For comparison, Grzesiek recorded 5.07M hours watched for the entire month of January averaging 22.98K CCV. His peak CCV of 44.07K in January was nearly 20K below his average for the past week. Though Grzesiek streamed a few games, his strength came from playing the hot new battle royale game. While playing Apex Legends, his average CCV was 77.8K, which was higher than his max CCV for either of the other two games he played. However, his time played on Tom Clancy's The Division 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was relatively short. He didn't stream either game for more than 3 hours. Reaching the Apex Top influencers all benefited from the release of Apex Legends. In the past few weeks, the top 10 chart for channels has included numerous broadcasters with less than 1M hours watched, but this week included seven influencers, six of which played a significant amount of Apex Legends. While Grzesiek led the way, other well-known battle royale savants averaged strong viewership while playing the new game. Tyler "Ninja" Blevins abandon Fortnite for the week to play the game to the tune of an average CCV of 52.59K across 30.8 hours. Herschel "Dr Disrespect" Beahm averaged 35.79K CCV and Jaryd "Summit1g" Lazar managed an average of 30.57K CCV. Lazar's transition to Apex Legends comes following his resurgence thanks to streaming Sea of Thieves. During January, he averaged 36K CCV playing the game over 224 hours of airtime. Staying Strong While many streamers moved to Apex Legends, Turner "Tfue" Tenney decided to stick to what's worked for him—Fortnite . In the fall, when most influencers were testing the waters with Call of Duty's new battle royale game, Tenney maintained strong viewership by exclusively playing Fortnite and not giving into the buzz, and he's done the same again this past week. The result was an average of 44.25K CCV with a max of 114.56K. Tenney's loyalty to Fortnite helped his average viewership outperform all influencers other than Blevins and Grzesiek, and his 47 hours of airtime pushed him into the 2M range for hours watched, something only Grzesiek managed to best. apex legendsCall of Duty: Black Ops 4Counter-Strike: Global OffensiveDota 2EAEpic GamesFortniteGlobalHerschel "Dr DisRespect" BeahmJaryd "Summit1g" Lazarleague of legendsMichael "Shroud" GrzesiekRiot GamesSea of ThievesTom Clancy's The Division 2Turner "Tfue" TenneytwitchTyler "Ninja" Blevins Let's block ads!
