Douglas County Unified Command will offer three COVID-19 vaccination clinics per week in coming weeks with late afternoon and evening hours at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.
Registration for all clinics will be open to the public, and registration codes will be posted at LDCHealth.org/COVIDVaccine and Douglascountyks.org/Coronavirus. Anyone who filled out the Douglas County Vaccine Interest Form will receive a notification about how to sign up for an appointment in the next two weeks, and then use of the form will be discontinued.
“Now that we are in Phase 5 and we have seen a lower return rate for appointments on the interest form, we are glad to be able to open registration up to everyone 16 and older,” said Business Systems Analyst Charlie Bryan, chair of the Vaccination Planning Unit of Unified Command. “Douglas County has the highest vaccination rate in the state right now, and we know the work ahead of us is to continue to improve access and communication to all those who haven’t had their turn yet to get the vaccine.”
Clinics at the Douglas County Fairgrounds will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on:
• Tuesday, April 13; Wednesday, April 14; Thursday, April 15.
• Tuesday, April 20; Wednesday, April 21; Thursday, April 22.
Pfizer vaccines are available for those 16 and older, and any future Moderna or Johnson & Johnson clinics are for those 18 and older. Anyone 16 or 17 should come to the appointment with a parent or guardian or have them available by phone to give permission.
Unified Command leaders are also seeking feedback in a new survey, bit.ly/DGCovidSurvey. They ask that you fill out this survey if:
• You were vaccinated at one of the clinics at the fairgrounds.
• You have not yet received or scheduled a vaccination appointment.
Responses will help Unified Command better serve the community and identify potential barriers for individuals to getting a vaccine appointment.
