Tuesday showers

A large storm system is moving into the region from the southwest today bringing thick clouds and light rain to the area. After a few spotty, light showers and sprinkles early in the day, we'll have more widespread rain and soggy weather from midday through the afternoon hours. Despite the murky conditions, our temperatures will be rather mild today. High temperatures will be in the mid-50s this afternoon which is about ten degrees above the seasonal average with a slightly gusty easterly breeze that will become more prominent later in the day as the center of that storm system approaches the area. Those winds will occasionally reach 25 miles per hour perhaps adding a slight chill to the air.

Light rain will continue throughout the night with temperatures hovering in the mid-40s. Winds will be a little lighter tonight, mainly in a ten to 15 miles per hour range.

A wet and cool Wednesday

Light rain showers will continue to move through the area Wednesday as the center of the storm system slides through southeastern Minnesota. Activity will become a bit more scattered in the early afternoon before coming to an end early in the evening. High temperatures tomorrow will be in the upper 40s with a brisk northwest breeze that will occasionally reach 20 miles per hour. Rainfall totals in the area will range from half an inch to one-inch from today through Wednesday.

Rainfall forecast from today through Wednesday.

Late week sunshine

Sunshine will finally return to our weather picture Thursday in the wake of our midweek storm system. We'll have occasional sunshine throughout the day with high temperatures in the mid and upper 40s and light northeast winds.

Friday also looks tranquil as high pressure grazes the area to the north, bringing bright, sunshine to the Upper Mississippi Valley for much of the day. High temperatures will be in the upper 40s with a light southeast breeze.

Weekend shower chances

A few light showers will be possible late Friday evening and many of those will hold over into Saturdasy ahead of a weask cold front that will approach from the northwest. We'll have occaisonal sunshine during the day saturday with widely scattered rain showers and high temperatures will be in the lower 50s.

Sunday is looking bright and pleasant with a mostly sunny sky and high temperatures will be near 50 degrees.

Still mild next week

After some mild sunshine Monday, a weak front will generate a few scattered showers late in the afternoon and evening. High temperatures ahead of that front will be in the lower 50s.

Sunny, dry, mild weather will be the rule in the longer term next week and high temperatures will be in the upper 40s to mid-50s each day through Good Friday.
