The Penguins return home tonight to open a two-game set on back-to-back nights against the Boston Bruins, who sit three points behind the Pens for third place in the NHL East, but have played two fewer games. With 35 points, the Penguins are seven behind the New York Islanders and three behind second-place Washington.
After beating last-place Buffalo Saturday to extend their season-best five-game winning streak, coach Mike Sullivan said the Penguins are focused on playing good hockey no matter who the opponent is.
The Penguins have beaten the Bruins the last six times they’ve played at PPG Paints Arena and are 10-2-1 against them at home going back to March 11th, 2012.
Tonight’s game faces off at 7:00. The airtime is 6:00 on 92.5 FM U92 and the U92 Sportschannel.
