The Broncos added special teams and running back depth Wednesday night by agreeing to terms on a two-year contract with Mike Boone, a source confirmed.
Boone, 25, played the last three years for Minnesota, where current Broncos general manager George Paton previously worked as an executive.
Boone appeared in 40 games and rushed 71 times for 379 yards and four touchdowns, but he also brings special teams value — he played 221 and 235 snaps, respectively, in the last two years.
The Broncos now have Boone, Melvin Gordon, Royce Freeman, Le’Vante Bellamy and Damarea Crockett in the running back fold. Phillip Lindsay is a restricted free agent who was tendered a right-of-first-refusal contract on Monday.
